A Legacy of Trust Since 1918 Ekambaram Sanitary Stores (ESS) is a fourth-generation enterprise rooted in a rich legacy of over a century. Our journey began in the year 1918, when M. Coomarasamy Pillay & Co. was founded at Cubbonpet, Bengaluru. Initially engaged in government and Wodeyar palace contracts, military and PWD projects, and iconic developments such as the Tippa Gundanalahalli Project, the company quickly established itself as a trusted name in sanitary engineering and construction works.

The company expanded its presence with branches in Bangalore (Avenue Road, formerly Cubbonpet) and Mysore (Lansdowne Building), with the Mysore branch operating until its closure in 1960. A Legacy Passed Down
Second Generation – Ekambaram Bros & Co. In 1960, the baton was passed to the second generation under Mr. Ekambaram, who founded Ekambaram Brothers. By 1970, the company was restructured as Ekambaram & Co., bringing in new partnerships and expanding its operational base, particularly in Bangalore and Mysore. This era marked ESS’s strong emergence in trading and sanitary engineering services.

Third Generation – Diversification and Growth By 1985, the business evolved into Ekambaram Sanitary Stores, focusing on quality sanitary ware distribution. In 1982, Mr. Mohan Kumar joined the business as a dedicated worker and later became a core pillar of the company alongside his mother, who also became a partner. Under their leadership, ESS expanded its supply chains and partnered with top brands in the sanitary ware industry. ESS has since embraced modern systems and broadened its brand portfolio to include premium names like JAL, HINDWARE, CERA, OMCO, NOVA, ARK, and SWAN.
